Frequently asked questions
- Does the countdown include today?
- The figure is the number of full days from today until the target date, so a date tomorrow shows as one day. The target date itself is the day you reach, not an extra day counted on top. If you want to include both today and the target as "days involved", add one to the figure shown.
- How many weeks until a date?
- The calculator divides the days remaining by seven to give whole weeks plus any leftover days. So 30 days is shown as 4 weeks and 2 days. This makes it easy to plan things that run on a weekly rhythm, such as revision or training.
- Can I count down to a date in a different year?
- Yes. The target can be any date in the future, and the calculator handles year boundaries and leap years correctly, so a countdown that crosses one or more 29 Februaries still gives the right number of days.
- Does this work offline and is anything sent to a server?
- The calculation runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is sent anywhere, and once the page has loaded it keeps working with no connection. There is no sign-up and no limit on how many dates you check.
